What's this thing all about? You go to your classes every day. You meet people, and occassionally someone catches your eye. Maybe you fall hopelessly in love at first sight. Or maybe you just want to get to know that someone a little better, maybe not even in a romantic way. But how do you know whether they are interested in getting to know you? Just going up and talking to someone can be pretty intimidating sometimes. Fortunately, modern science has brought you a powerful new tool in your quest to meet people. It's called the "Love Monkey." Developed as part of a secret government project, Love Monkey will save you from having to face the utter humilation of asking someone out when you're not sure how they feel about you. How exactly can Love Monkey help me? It's simple. You add that special someone's email address to your secret list of people you want to go out with or get to know better. That person will also have their own list, and if each of you is on the other person's list Love Monkey will notify the two of you privately by email. What if the other person doesn't have me on their list? Then Love Monkey will not do anything. No match emails will be sent, and no one will ever be the wiser about your crush. And we will have saved you the embarassment of utter rejection. I already signed up, how can I edit my list? Easy, go to the Love Monkey home page: www.dailyjolt.com/lovemonkey and type your primary email and password into the box on the right side of the page. Hit the "Sign in" button, and bingo, you're there! Are you saying I'm supposed to make a list of all the people I like? Sounds a bit scary... Maybe, but you don't have much to lose. Your list is completely confidential, so no one else can ever see it. We won't tell any of the people on your list that you like them, or anyone else for that matter. If the feeling is not mutual then nothing happens. If the feeling is mutual, then we just notify the two you by email. So if you get an email from us, you know the other person feels the same way about you. What if I have more than one email address? Should I sign up twice? Love Monkey will let you enter up to three email addresses on your account, so even if people know you by more than one address you're covered. Just visit the "change your info" page once you're signed up. Is my Love Monkey account the same as my regular Daily Jolt account? Nope. The two accounts are stored separately, and you don't have to use the same email address or password if you have a Love Monkey account and a Daily Jolt account. Here's why we've set it up like this: many people are fairly insecure with their regular Daily Jolt accounts since they don't feel the information contained in that account is very private. (For instance, many people never log out of their regular Daily Jolt accounts for the sake the convenience.) However, most people would want to keep their Love Monkey information very private and it must be secure. Thus we keep the accounts separate so that people can be more careful with their Love Monkey accounts without sacrificing the ease-of-use of their Daily Jolt accounts. Love Monkey keeps telling me that I have been inactive for ten minutes and am therefore being logged out, but I am sure that I have not been inactive for ten minutes. What gives? There are three possibilities here:
I can add people to my list all I want, but if they just happen not to hear about Love Monkey then they will never create their own list and I will know whether they like me or not. Right? Ah, but you underestimate the Love Monkey. When a new person is added to your list who is not currently registered, Love Monkey sends a short, polite message to the new person saying that someone has put them on their list and encouraging the new person to register. This message is 100% anonymous and does not in any way reveal that you were the one who added that person to your list. All the message does is encourage them to register to try to get matched up and thereby find out who it was that added them to their list. Remember, we never, ever reveal your name to someone else unless a match is found. What kind of a stupid name is "Love Monkey" anyway? Hey, if you've got a better name, why don't you send it to us? We just might use it... Is Love Monkey actually a monkey? Or just a short man in a monkey costume? Yes, he's really a monkey. Thanks for telling me about Love Monkey. I'm gonna go sign up right now! No problem, but that wasn't a question. |
